This Regulation ensures the effective application of the principle of solidarity and fair sharing of responsibility between Member States and the adaptation of the relevant rules on asylum procedure, including the application of the expedited procedure so that the Member States and the Union have the necessary legal tools at their disposal to react swiftly to situations of crisis and force majeure, including the adaptation of the timelines to carry out all procedures.
