The screening at the external border should be completed as soon as possible, and should not exceed seven days. The screening within the territory should be completed as soon as possible, and should not exceed three days. Member States should not be prevented from completing the screening at the external border and the screening within the territory in shorter periods, provided that the checks provided for in this Regulation are carried out.
