Screening Regulation:
Recital 52

Since access to the EESEntry/Exit System, ETIASEuropean Travel Information and Authorisation System, VISVisa Information System and ECRIS-TCNCentralised system for the identification of Member States holding conviction information on third-country nationals and stateless persons is necessary for the screening authorities in order to verify whether the person might pose a threat to internal security, Regulations (EC) No 767/2008Visa Information System Regulation, (EU) 2017/2226Entry/Exit System Regulation, (EU) 2018/1240European Travel Information and Authorisation System Regulation and Regulation (EU) 2019/816Centralised system for the identification of Member States holding conviction information Regulation should be amended to provide for that access right, which is currently not provided by those Regulations. In the case of Regulation (EU) 2019/816Centralised system for the identification of Member States holding conviction information Regulation, such amendment should for reasons of variable geometry take place through a different Regulation than this Regulation.
